BIN Sponsorship
A BIN (Bank Identification Number) sponsorship means that your company is applying to be allowed to issue credit and/or debit cards. The BIN’s are usually acquired through banks, as those are the only one that are allowed to offer these financial products since its required to be financially regulated.
Although in the past many years more and more companies have expressed wishes to issue cards, thus they needed their own BIN. For that purpose Keane Ltd has been placed itself in the middle working on putting the banks working together with clients that wishes to work with their own card distribution scheme.
We will set you up with all the right banks, such as Raphaels Bank, or Newcastle Building Society and also setup all the contact to the clearing houses, such as FIS or TSYS.
If you are looking to go through us where we acquire the BIN’s and you are working with us such is also possible. Contact us today with your inquiry about how to obtain your own BIN and we can help you from there.
Raphaels Bank – The only fully licensed bank that deals with BIN sponsorships. They are a very good partner to work with and they can setup the whole infrastructure of getting you going with a debit/credit card solution. Located in the heart of London they are easily accessible for anyone serious about venturing into the prepaid card business. ICE PLC is one of the companies fully administered by Raphaels Bank. Its a prepaid cards project in the UK.
Clydedale Bank – Another good bank that offers BIN sponsorships when it comes to prepaid cards. Although they are solely focusing on the UK as far as we know. None the less a good stable partner to choose. A great articles about the bank and the prepaid cards/BIN industry is written here
FIS – Standing out as a clearing house, and mainly acting as a technology company in the financial/banking sector, FIS is more or less doing all the tricky technical hookup’s to the different parties. FIS usually works with Raphaels Bank as their partner when a new venture comes in force, since Raphaels Bank is the only licensed company to hold money on behalf of third party, while FIS is doing all the routing, clearing and handling of the funds.
Transactnetwork - Neither a Bank or a technology company, but one of the best players in the market. They are already working with companies such as Raphaels Bank, FIS and TSYS (another clearing house/tech company). Transactnetwork are administrated by former prepaid cards player, New Castle Building Society (a Bank in the UK). Since Newcastle Building Society more or less pulled out of the prepaid card game, the guys behind the department started their own company. A great player if you want to start with prepaid cards.
PCT – Another great company in the market is PCT. These guys are specialized when you want to do a fast route and skip the whole FIS/E-money license from the Bank’s partner and all that. If you JUST want to deliver cards and be in charge of design and parameters this is the perfect company to go with. They will act more like partners than just facility providers, but they are definitely worth taking a meeting with. Like everyone else, they are also located in central London.
Polymathconsulting – Another great player in the industry. They have written a very good piece about what BIN sponsorships is all about. Look at it here
Ccsprepay – Another very good provider that we have to mention. These guys are very good at existing programs and basically facilitate with setting up if you for some reason came into some problems with your current provider. They go much more for volume rather than fast setup, but they are none the less very good.
Prepaidsolutions – A company part owned by Mastercard. Definitly worth an extra look.
Prepaid Technologies – An american company, sponsoring some rather large players in the business.
Elan Financial Services – An American company – offering a number of card services
There are numerous players in the industry for sure. This is just a fraction of the few located in the UK. They are easy to start a business venture and are all experienced players in the market. What is important to note about all these players is that they are not solely focused on the UK, EU or any particular region. Most of them facilitate card distributors as far as Taiwan and other parts of Asia as well as South America. All are companies with a lot of experience, great trust and can easily facilitate a new player with the know-how for the BIN sponsorship industry and engage in a worldwide distribution.
